I've been listening to a lot of rock in opposition and canterbury scene and I've especially been digging records like Carla Bley's Tropic Appetites which has players from those scenes collaborating with players from the contemporary jazz scene. I also wanted to play some of the 60's and 70's British jazz, Jim Hall on the wonderful Jazz Abstractions album and Basil Kirchin's tape experiments with accompaniment from players such as Evan Parker and Derek Bailey. Also re-listened to a disc of Korean Sinawi music, essentially improvisational shamanic ritual music, the final piece has some super intense percussion and reed playing that sounds like Albert Ayler being smeared across the cosmos.

Thanks as always,
