Call for Art: "This Little Piggy..."

Make.Shift Art Space and Ketchup + Mustard invite YOU to paint a pig. Or collage a pig, or knit the pig a cute little sweater -- whatever your artistic heart desires! Go hog wild!

We want you to bring new life to the classic Mother Goose poem about those crazy pigs go to market and ate roast beef. The title of your submission will finish the statement, “This Little Piggy…” But feel free to take your pig on an adventure to anywhere your imaginative heart desires! For example: “This Little Piggy...went to Hogwarts” -- the pig would be decorated like Harry Potter. Or “This LIttle Piggy...had cold feet” -- the pig would be wearing a sweater or a wedding dress, etc.

How it Works:

  1. Sign up to participate BELOW

  2. Pick up a piggy bank at Make.Shift on FRI 6/21 12-5PM

  3. Turn your pig into a beautiful creation!

  4. Bring your decorated pig back to Make.Shift on FRI 8/23 12-5PM

  5. See all the pretty pigs on ART WALK FRIDAY SEPT 6TH 6-10PM

Don’t forget to bring your change!

Art Walk goers will be encouraged to donate money to their favorite pigs. Donations will go towards long overdue upgrades to the Make.Shift space. The pig with the most donations will win a special “Best in Show” prize. The lovely designers at Ketchup + Mustard will be dressing up a big ol’ pig to house large donations.

Ketchup + Mustard is kick ass team of branding, graphic design and marketing pros who appreciate, encourage and support art & artists throughout Bellingham. It’s likely you’ve seen some of their work around town and you can learn more about them at

You are welcome to decorate your pig anyway you like, but if you would like to paint and fire your pig in a professional setting, CreativiTea in Fairhaven has agreed to provide paint, tools, and glazing/firing for just $10.  Artists must paint their pigs at CreativiTea in order to use their kiln. Please contact them directly for scheduling or more information. Let them know you’re part of the “This Little Piggy…” show.
