Meet The Gallery Jury: Karen Hanrahan

My name is Karen Hanrahan. I moved here from the PNW in 2015. When I am not making art, I sell vitamins. I began that work as a single mom of 2, so that I could create my own hours. I am a self- taught artist.  My focus on art is more, now that my kids are grown. I make collages and take photographs. My art style is decidedly narrative and very organic, up close and personal. I am a prolific maker.

Make.Shift offers an energetic art environment.  Shows are select and provocative.  The gallery is an established creative hub with a super inclusive vibe.  As an artist I have felt a belonging there. I enjoy an artist that is transparent about their art process, especially if that artist is trying on new things.
