Who says art has to be “pretty?” Not us, that’s for sure! Next month Make.Shift’s gallery will display dark, twisted and altogether gross artwork! “Cringe” is a celebration of all things uncomfortable. Bring your barf bag to the next Art Walk Friday June 2nd and be ready to get grossed out! Maybe we’ll even display that afterward. Not really. Before things take an icky, uncomfortable turn this June, we have one last event coming up to close out May!

This Saturday the Make.Shift mainstage hosts one of the most adorably named bands in Bellingham, Go Slowpoke with the amazingly theatrical Sweeping Exits and Seattle synth rock cuties, YURT. As always, doors at 8 p.m. and music at 8:30! No booze, no drugs… get it.

There is still time to fill out your registration for All Ages Rock Lotto! This is an awesome opportunity to try your hand at an instrument, scream into a microphone or show off your sweet Karen O impression on stage in front of your best pals (definitely  not projecting my own thoughts into this)! If that doesn’t sound cool enough -- which it totally does but OK-- then you’ll be stoked to find out that Casa Que Pasa is paying the cover fee for the first 20 people through the door! Bring your mom, your neighbor, or someone you bumped into on the street and tell them their fee is paid for if you show up right when the doors open! Then buy them a burrito at Casa with the money you saved! Check out the Facebook page for event details, fill out this Google form, share it with your friends and then start a band even after the event ends:

As always, see you back here next week!
